I'm actually tempted in adding it now to my order.

Your comment on your 2014 car and the latest cars being different is interesting.

Our Mk7 is one of the earliest around, so it may be that the system has been changed or updated over the years, as to me it seems odd everyone is rating it so well, when the one we have clearly is not that great.

Dave

I wonder if the bass difference is down to the fact that the car I test drove was a 5 door and mine is a 3 door.  The larger door volume could make the effective speaker housing too large?  Just a thought?

Mine was a three door and I was underwhelmed by the sound of Dynaudio. In fact the low point was when I was adjusting the set up and switched it to rear speakers only to hear what they sound like in isolation - they sounded awful!

Mine is the same, yet in the Mk6 and latest R it sounded great.   Hmmm

That's interesting, I've added it to my new 3 door build, so will see if MY17 is any better then.

Reading through this thread I was wobbling on amending our order and adding this, now you guys have mentioned your disappointment with the 3dr its cooled me down.

Thanks

I was exactly the same, but as I already have it, I was worried the standard system would be bad.

How have you got your standard system set up Steve?
I've got my bass near the top, the middle setting about 3/4 and the right hand one around half way.
Sounds ok to me but going from my tastes in music I'm probably tone deaf anyway!

Sorry Andy I missed your reply.
Since this thread I've spent a long time comparing the 2 systems rather than just listening to them.
I'll eat my hat   The Dynaudio definitely sounds better. Its got a lot more range to it and feels more complete.
However I don't think folk that spec the standard system will be disappointed and I'm still not convinced there is £500 worth of difference between them.

Anyway here are the settings we have on the standard system.

Just collected my gti yesterday and I'd specced dynaudio I have to admit listening to it is awesome easily on par if not better that the bose concert system that was in my a3 and previously to thar was my then pride n joy foci which I'd won quite a few trophies for the sound light n dvd system I had 2000 watts inc 3amps 2 subs 6x9s and components obviously this ain't gonna have that punch but the clarity is pure.
One of my sons is into alot of based music and he had a smile of approval when we tried his music in the car I personally am glad I upgraded to Dynaudio
