The only contact I've had with my dealer was last year, they called me up saying that as I was an existing owner then they can do me a fantastic deal. I declined the offer as I had only collected my car 10 days before!

I certainly won't be going back to that dealer anytime soon (Lightcliffe VW Liverpool).

Oh I can tell you some bad things about Lightcliffe VW Liverpool and I would never buy a car from them, new or used. They get bad reviews on the net

On the other hand I have heard good things about Corkhills in Wigan - may be worth a talk to when you decide to take the plunge...

Interesting one that, I might give them a try. I now take my car to Lookers in Preston for its maintenance, and their customer service has been fantastic. Their sales team have spoken to me, but were quite honest about the fact I'm too soon into my PCP agreement to change. I'll certainly give them a try though (although to be quite honest, it looks like my next car will be from BMW).

I live in Wigan so Corkills were my first port of call when looking to buy as I had a V6 4Motion from there a good few years back. To say the salesman was an arse is an understatement. As we walked away my wife actually said "I dont care if it costs us a £1000 more, we are not buying a car from that cock". He actually accused me of lying despite having a DTD printout. Try Chris at Inchscape at Bolton, he was the complete opposite and deals with their Carwow stuff. Pleasure to deal with. Though I haven't had the car long enough to try out servicing dept and no cause to return the car for anything.
I suppose each to their own, different day same salesman different result maybe. Who knows.
Current - MkVii 5Dr GTI Carbon Grey Manual.
Previously at various times- MkiV 2002 V6 4Motion Manual Black, Pug 205 1989 1.6 GTi Red Manual, Escort RS Turbo, 2006 RX-8 blue, 2009 A5 Cab Auto.

^^ Funny that, Inchcape in Bolton was the first dealer I looked at after I'd decided I was buying a MK7. I rang and made an appointment, turned up to view/test drive a car and the salesman who I spoke to wasn't available. One of the other sales staff told me to come back another time, as nobody would be available for a couple of hours. I explained that I was ready to place an order and he simply wasn't interested. Needless to say I never did go back.
