29 euros shipping to Bulgaria from Germany, both EU countries, there is no customs. 200 miles to collect?

I have to live with what I have too and I lived in 4 countries, so have learned some stuff can be complicated but unless you live on a small island or complete sticks ebay works fine.

I was looking at a GTD estate recently and said the exact same thing to the dealer. They assured me they do actually now come with them and that VW hadn't updated their website.

Not sure how true it is, but might be worth double checking.

Unfortunately not true. Some dealers/salespeople either don't know the cars they are selling or will say what the buyer wants to hear just to try and get a sale. I suppose that is why they get such a bad reputation sometimes.

Just to clarify the above...

Our customs people are very pedantic about stuff coming into and leaving the country (probably thanks to some shonky people in the past) and they still check every package...there is a charge for this and you have to pay it before said package is released. It is usually held at one of their facilities, either near Sofia, Russe or Burgas; which one depends on where it entered the country. Sofia is the closest to me and that entails a 200 mile round trip...the others are somewhat further away than that.

The ebay question is much more complicated...many sellers won't deal with Bulgaria, probably thanks to the above shonky folk! Paypal won't accept many credit or debit cards which are issued in Bulgaria...I don't used credit cards, but I do have a debit card which is linked to a healthy savings account over here...they won't have a bar of it!!!

I too, have lived in many other countries but this is the only one where I have come across frustrating rubbish like this.

Hope this clarifies the situation.
