Best nationwide private car leasing company
« on: 21 November 2015, 19:46 »
Looking for suggestions for good reputable Leasing companies nationwide or in the south with reasonable priced offers?

Company leasing is quite a cost nowadays especially with the BIK and reduction in taxable benefit so seriously thinking about private leasing and first glance with some google searches seems I could save £100 ish a month easily.

As a picture I'm probably out of pocket around £550 a month with our company lease scheme.

Also do the leasing companies provide an insurance broker as part of the price too or is this something I would need to arrange separately?

I would certainly be looking at a Golf still, perhaps a GTI this time.

Best company I have ever used is target car leasing. Absolutely outstanding service and decent prices. Got my last 3-4 cars from them

Ha ha quality!

And yes, google was my first tool of course, but I'm asking for someones experience using lease companies and to make a recommendation, and thanks for those bottom 2 links, good prices!

Pretty sure i'll be leasing next time, and keep my car money in the bank. There have been some fantastic lease deals on there, and not always with a car you'd have considered when spending your own money.

That £166pm (average, taking into account deposit) for a Peugeot 208 GTI for 18 months might have tempted me a few months back, but i'd never buy one.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Cheaper to just go via your VW dealer and ask to speak to the fleet sales department

Don't VW only do business leases via dealerships? Either way you need something to benchmark, I doubt you'll just get a good deal walking in off the street.

Hell no! I went to the fleet manager when I was looking at a GTI. Came up at £50 a month more and was quoted 6 months. Target car leasing got it in 6months and cheaper.

That 208 deal was really tempting!

I'm 50/50 on whether I'll lease next time or not.

Pro's:
Lack of attachment to the car so you'll just use it, make the most of it and hand it back, no strings.

Con's:
You're stuck with it if it annoys you and it's something not serious enough to reject it.
You've got to see the lease through if something newer and shiner takes your eye (maybe a 12 month lease might be a better bet?)
You can't take it apart and fix the things that us forumites like to fiddle with - we buy our cars and know the areas we'd like to improve upon, so make the car a project (cosmetic bits, aesthetic bits, electronic retro fits, modifications)

Maybe I'd keep my Golf as a long term project and just lease something really cheap as a runabout though. That sh!troen deal above is an example of that way of thinking.

http://www.vwroc.com/forums/forum/67-the-lease-board/ is a very useful place as it's kept pretty up to date and there's a lot of experienced leasers that drop by and newbies too.
