eBay item 221923495615 (now ended) was for the above Garmin based unit, being sold by a dealership by the looks of the eBay ad.
£450 (£425 more likely with an offer) and fit it yourself.
Or buy a £15 phone mount and use the nav apps you can get on your phone which will be mounted higher on the dash than the factory unit?
There are other options including one using entirely third party parts and a bigger screen but I've never seen a review of one of those.
Is it fairly easy to fit Wakey?
I've retrofitted various units to older generation VW's and have full VCDS.
At £425 it's not too bad value up against the £800 factory unit, plus you'd probably recoup £100 - 150 selling it on in a couple years once the car was being moved on.
I've been on/off considering one of these Garmin units for a few months but haven't had any trips planned where I'm likely to use a nav!
I've just retrofitted the vw backed garmin unit. Got it for 425. Its a great bit of kit and integrates seamlessly with MiB. Worth every penny imho
