Guidance on price?
« on: 30 October 2015, 03:49 »
Folks,

I've not been around much recently, so a bit out of touch...but does anyone have an idea of what a good 2010 GTI is worth?
It's not up for sale...I'm just tossing a few ideas around as I'm on nightshift and, if I'm honest, a bit bored.

2010 5dr GTI, Manual, 14160 miles (just over 14,000...not a typo), FVWSH, still under VW extended warranty, immaculate (it really is...)
Sunroof, Adaptive Xenons, Winter Pack, Adaptive Damping, Storage Pack, Folding mirrors, Park Assist, retrofitted 'R' dark LED rear lights, anthracite VW Racing 8.5" x 19" wheels, VW Racing lowered springs, VW Racing short-shift, VW Racing cat back with black ceramic coated tips, anthracite painted mirror backs, diffuser, front lower lip and side sill trims, RNS510, Bluetooth, Dynaudio....blah, blah.
More than I can remember just now.

No finance.
Never been in an accident.
Never had paint - except on the diffuser, sill trims, mirror backs and front lip and they were new parts painted. I still have the originals.
I did hit a Pheasant once...I think it put a crack in the front lower grill honeycomb...but I can't find it to check.
Fast enough to get me banned for exceeding the legal limit. DD40 to prove it :-)

I'm thinking £12k-ish?
Am I in the right ballpark?

Glen.

I would say that £12k would be the top end for a private sale, but if you find the person that appreciates what it is, I'm sure they will be prepared to pay that.

As a trade in, it's just a 5 year old car, albeit with very low mileage, so prepare to feel insulted.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I just had my 2013 (November!) car with 83k miles evaluated at just under 10k..... list price just under 30k in 2013 ;)
Make of that what you want.

I sold my 2012 5 door DSG, 28k miles for £15.5k privately.  It needed all 4 diamond cut wheels refurbing so factored the cost of that into the selling price.

I guess I'm not far away at £12kish as it is for a private sale.
I'd expect less for trading it in - but then it would go back standard and I could sell a few of the bits off to make up the difference.

Food for thought.
Maybe it's time to see what I get offered.

Cheers folks.
