I am installing my LED Tail Lights today which are OEM.
The install looks straight forward, however I am unsure of if I need a repair wire as my car already came with a fog light switch.

As for VCDS, I understand that I will need to code byte 18 from 00 to 15 as I have a 2010 model.
Are there any other changes to be made for the fog light or if you had two reverse lights?

Thank you

Should think as you already have fog lights you wont need the repair wire.
Audi S1 gone, awaiting 1.5tsi r-line, pan roof, led lights front and rear, active dash, 18" jurva alloys and a dealer fitted Oettinger roof spoiler in tornado red.

Hi , I have recently fitted genuine Led tail lights to my 2010 GTi , I also had to order 4 cables that convert the standard rear light wiring plugs to ones that fit the LED lamps - I got mine from Fleabay and they were posted from Germany and look OEM as there is a vw part number on them . ReAlly straight forward and well worth the cost as they look great . After fitting I had to go and get a mate with VCDS to recode to prevent bulb out errors . Best of luck , cheers 😁

You'll need the wiring converters and some coding, as you suspected!

I do VCDS coding in Fife, Scotland if that helps anyone. Aswell as remaps, performance parts etc etc
