It's been a while since I updated this thread with car progress. I have posted the few mini mods elsewhere, but nice to keep them in this thread too as a record of what I've done.

Just after getting the car end of Sept 15, swapped out the white footwell LEDs for blue ones in October. Decided a few other tweaks were needed.

November 2015 - Fitted door sill protectors

Passenger side front and rear

Driver side front and rear

Next up was swapping the oem paddle shifters for some S2T shifters.

Before

After

Followed by some new R logo’d mats for the new year Jan 2016

From http://www.carmats2u.co.uk//vw-golf-car-mats-mk7-2013-onwards-2486-p.asp

I opted for the black Premier Super Lux with twin tone fabric edging in electric blue/black and R logo on fronts - push button fixing.  They are really excellent quality - very deep pile and extra wear pad on the driver's mat.  The blue of the two tone edging is brighter in the flesh than the pics show.  They are also available with a faux leather edge and in retrospect that might have matched the R logo better, but I quite like the more subtle edging, which makes the R logo stand out, but at the same time is more interesting than a plain black edging.  Like them a lot.

Daytime pics

Few evening/night pics -  as anticipated (and planned when choosing the edging design/colour), the blue footwell lights pick up the blue/black edging very nicely.

Moody night shots

And today

Fitted this......

Looks great and matches in nicely with the pedals – looks oem.  Somewhere pretty to rest my idling left foot, lol.

I'm nearly 4 months into ownership now.  The car is going brilliantly and gets better by the day (apart from the mpg ).  I am very pleased I went for the R, it has not disappointed in any way and has only exceeded my expectations.

When I'm 6 months in, I'll do another review update.  But for now, here's a few recent pics - after a good wash of course.

Absolutely stunning but I have found another potential bit of bling for your interior that I had forgot I had already done to mine. Can't find a photo of what it is at the minute though so you will have to be held in bored suspense for a bit. Only cost about £6ish so won't break the bank either !!

Yep one pin per paddle.  5 minute job to swap them over.

Guide here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=276214.0

They are lovely to use, a big improvement of the teeny standard ones, but still look oem.  The S2T ones come in 3 different styles and finishes.  The ones I got are B3 in Polished Black.

By 'it' do you mean your good lady wife, mrs wigit?  I agree, she needs bigger flappers. No R is complete without them.
