The above pic is manual lumbar adjustment and that's what you'll have in your R.

Cheers Joe.  Yep, I was clear on that from earlier but I think Sootchucker got the wrong end of the stick.  A handle it is then.

Yep! On another note, I got word today that my car has completed production - a week late! I had been told that it was confirmed week 30 but it only went into production on Monday and was completed this morning. I'm told I should see it in or around 14-15th August.

A week late!  Well you've waited this long. At least the end is in sight and only a couple weeks now till you can take possession.  Excited?

Still no movement on mine and dealer is on hols, but I am sceptical that it's going to be anything like the unconfirmed build week.  For what it's worth tracker still showing at stage 2  :sad:

When I say a week late, I really mean about 8-10 weeks late! I had expected to be collecting the bloomin thing on July 1st!

I'm not particularly excited tbh. I've waited so long and put up with VW's appalling service for months, so the novelty has worn off quite a bit. I'm still in my MK7 GTI too while I wait so it's not like I'm slumming it in a runabout while waiting either. Ah I'm sure the excitement will pick up again when I finally see it!

Ha, yeah what's another week when you've waited 10!

I'm with you on the not getting excited front.  A bit sad but I never get particularly excited about getting a new car.  Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the change but not excited as such. I've had lots of new cars so the novelty wears off after a while.  I tend to appreciate cars more once I've been in them a while.

I hope everything goes smoothly at collection when yours does finally turn up.

A definitive answer, thanks p3 (and AndyG who said the same) :smiley:

They will remain empty for at least 3 years!

I don't think the MK7 has electric lumbar support. That was dropped after the MK6.

Available with the electric seats?

Doesn't ever seem to have been offered as an option in UK/Irish markets. I've seen electric seats on the "lesser" MK7's here though - the GT/Highline models.

It is possible, probably as a special order (like non-standard paint colour)

Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black
