I also sorted out my GAP with ALA after playing them and 123 off each other, and sorted out my proper insurance to kick in on Monday.
If you don't mind me asking, how much was the GAP insurance with ALA? That's probably who I'll be looking to go with for mine.
Well I was offered 2 choices:- The RTI (back to what you actually paid) and the replacement vehicle plus (RVP), which is back to the current price of your car and its options at the time you need to claim - inflation proof.
I got an online quote with Gap 123 (something like that), and the RTI (£15k max payout) came up at around £134 for 3 years. I hadn't looked at RVP cover at that point.
Onto ALA and I knew there was a 10% discount code, but that they also match the competition and then beat them by 20% of the difference. As they initially came up at £137 for the RTI, I said 123 were cheaper and they they looked up 123, saw that it was £134, they came down to around £124. The ALA fella also did a check on 123's RVP cover, at around £154, and ALA were £43 more, they had to come down to £143.70.
For £9 more, I went with the RVP cover, up to £20k payout.
So £143 for 3 years, £20k max cover back to prevailing RRP of your car (which they have mine down as £32323 - 5 door, manual, metallic paint, Prets). I thought that was hard to beat.
