Salesmen spouting that sort of bilge is one of the reasons I really can't be doing with the whole car buying process. I've thought of many cars that I'd like to buy, but can't bring myself to go in and voluntarily listen to all that guff.

That's the beauty of buying via a broker (in addition to good levels of discount).  You don't have to listen to all the crap salesman spout.  I really can't bear it and no longer have the tolerance to sit there and suffer it, when I can get the car I want at the click of a button.

I think if you go in and say what your interested in and make a point of not wanting to listen to a boring sales pitch any half decent salesman will get the jist.  or you hope that's the case

I know it's all part of the job (worked in sales for 10 years - wine, not cars) and no doubt it actually works on a fair few people, but it's wasted on the majority of regular car forum dwellers who tend to know their stuff inside out, and that's why I can't be doing with it.
