Is it a lease car being delivered or are you stuck waiting at the dealer drinking coffee and eating biscuits whilst loudly tutting and pacing up and down?
If it's being delivered the guy might be lost or stuck in traffic (or enjoying the car if it's not on a trailer)

Being driven to me from the dealership. Around 200miles. I was told it would be here around 1pm but 3pm if the traffic was bad. It's now 4pm and I have kept my eye on the traffic.....there is about 10-20mins max worth of traffic on the route.

I'm guessing it's some 17yr old having fun.....I will be checking the car very carefully

I'm sure the car will be fine - although yes you need to look at it very carefully.

Its all down to the individual but these days no way would I have someone drive my brand new car - to me its a bit like getting somebody in to open your Christmas  presents for you ;-)

Definitely. How does the customer stand if the car turns up with a few stone chips (not that it will!), having done a few hundred miles for delivery? Would they class it as an acceptable possibility considering the mode of delivery?

Remlapeel - go over that car with a fine toothed comb - if the driver does not hang around long enough, sign that you have received as unchecked and get on to the dealership ASAP if you find a ding/dent/chip/loose trim/scraped wheel or bumper. If the weather allows, give your car a wash straight away - most of the time you find paint chips etc when you wash the car!

Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Was there no way of paying a few ££ to get it transported? As said, there I no way I'd allow someone to drive my brand new car

It's here!!!

It would have had to pay £250 and wait at least another week. I have checked it over very carefully, took me about 30minutes with the guy itching to get away.

It was a guy in his 50s that drove it, it still classed as new until I sign so if any paint chips etc, they would sort it.

He must have drove it like a nun because he hit 39mpg on the run.

The car is literally perfect, which is such s relief given the crap with my GTi

Quickly took this one, but not had chance to take any more. I'll get some up soon once cleaned etc
