Driving Profile Modes
« on: 29 April 2015, 08:14 »
Hi guys, just a random question. With regards to the driver profile selection button near the gear stick, I read on another forum that a member had commented on a "hidden" feature that multiple presses of the button cycles though the various modes on the infotainment screen (Comfort, Normal, Sport & Individual). Then after no presses for a few seconds, the screen request disappears.

With mine, if I press the button once, I get the menus up on screen, but if I press it again, it cancels the menu and removes it from the screen i.e. multiple presses don't cycle though the options. Does anyone's Golf actually work as above and is that a MY15 change or something (mine is a Sept 2013 build). If so, is this action programmable via VCDS ?

It's always bugged me that unlike my previous Scirocco when I could cycle through the various damper settings on the DCC via multiple presses of the button, on the GTD I have to press the button then the screen, which in winter when I have gloves on (when it's really cold out), means having to take my gloves off to acknowledge the requester on the screen (I know, It's no major hardship), but if it's doable via coding  that would be great.

Would be even better through the mfd and steering wheel controls.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

The 'toggling' is a feature of newer cars. Mine does not do it (12 months old).

My GTD is a later model than yours... it has a heater, no longer requiring gloves

My GTD is MY15 and has that feature. If you cycle to sport and don't do anything it selects sport.

Is this likely to be able to be enabled through VCDS or is it more likely to be a hardware revision so we can't do anything?
