Performance Audis and VWs are supposed to have silver mirror caps. In fact I think they are most fetching and look absolutely spiffing with my vibrant Tornado Red paint.
The only colour I don't think the silver does anything for is white, and perhaps Limestone Grey. If I was getting a white car, I definitely spec the black gloss mirrors.
As in "already"
Not at all. Unlike you M.Ex, I don't get easily bored by cars
Me and my delicious Mk6 will have been together 3 long years by the time we part. I realise that's an aeon to you in car ownership terms
Seriously, I actually like the brushed silver accents, on most of the R colours, including DBP, but there may come a time when I feel the need to look über stealth
i think the silver contrasts quite well on the white and less so on say the blue and is thankfully hidden on the silver R's.
I don't get bored, it's just that there are so many good offerings I'd like to have them all but none of them suits me perfectly yet none of them are duds.
And
excuse me but although you've had your lovely shiny beautiful black mk6 for ages and ages you've been banging on about a mk7 R for as long as I've been out of nappies!

Not that I'm one to split hairs!
I think it's likely my mk7 will actually be with me quite a long time but in the meantime I like to explore other options, not that I'm a car tart or anything...

Orangewheels also show the black mirror option so it's in the pipeline somewhere even if VW retail aren't up to date with their own options and availability. Not that that's a common occurrence or anything.
