Keyless Entry, Winter Pack and Discover Nav are showing up as standard on both the Configurator and Spec section of VW website for the GTD/GTI so fingers crossed this isn't another 'mistake'.

Just had this from VW.  Someone must be listening...

"We’re adding some great new options to standard spec on all MY16 Golf GTD and GTI models, making them even more attractive than their competitors.

To support this offer, we’re promoting the Golf with marketing activity worth £1 million.

All units built from week 22 (starting 25 May) onwards will come with the following options, worth a fabulous £1,515 to the customer, as standard:

•   Discover Navigation – £750
•   Winter Pack – £400
•   Keyless Entry – £365

These items have been automatically added to all orders in the pipeline that will be built from week 22 onwards. Most of these customer deliveries should reach your sites from late June.

MY16 GTD or GTI orders with one (or a combination) of these options will consign at the lower price (ie excluding the option cost). Please make sure this saving is passed on to the customer.

The Golf GTD Estate was launched with these options included as standard"

Is this VW's answer to get GTI sales up again? Seems daft to go against the grain and leave the standard R less well equipped than the other 3 (including GTE) performance VWs. I wonder how many dealerships still charge those who ordered some or all of those items as options? Not sure i'd want Keyless - are keyless cars still seen as less secure/easier to steal?
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
MK7 R 5 door, manual, Lapiz Blue, Prets.

Thanks for posting that ALX .

It probably explains why my dealer has been trying to contact me today.

Missed these updates by 5 days  I would have saved £10 a month on keyless and would have specced the sport & sound pack and tinted windows in its place.

I was just on the VW site and used the configurator and its saying winter pack with leathers included .. do you reckon this is right ? i originally thought it was just the winter pack as in heated seats etc, but it also says leather seats. So confusing.

I think that means if you have leather the winter pack is included (and logically, it should mean leather is now cheaper as the heated seats that were bundled with leather are now standard)

Hi,

There are some other odd things if you look down the spec list like red brake calipers appear to be standard and not part of the PP...
