The R forum has improved considerably ever since a certain mod of unbelievable arrogance sacked himself and another member with a rather long forum name hardly ever posts his incomprehensible views. It is also policed with less gusto than before.

True, but I would rather post here
Tbh it has gone a bit stale recently. There is not a lot going on.
Blimey, how far has this thread gone off topic ??
Anyone had an update in the last couple of hours

What people need to do with their Rs are turn the traction control off and drive it properly and metaphorically grow a pair

Used mine for work today and walking back just thought how good it is, my wife has now run hers in and said she just loves it

Well said wigit.

Glad Mrs wigit is loving it, I know her Ed30 Pirelli was a tough act to follow.

Regarding R400 the member, he has a faux R as he is waiting for his faux R400. I find his posts quite amusing.

Faux R or not, troll or not he is amusing.  Part of me hopes he has a fleet of supercars, never mind an R.

I know the sacked Mod and the other guy you are referring to, but them aside there are still others whose holier-than-thou-attitude grates.  Btw, you are not one of them   Every forum has it's share I suppose, but it's much less evident on here.

Haha, who cares if it's off topic for a bit.

No update, no usual 9pm dealer email.  He's losing his touch

Agree with everything said above. Still go there as there's not enough posts here to keep me occupied on the laptop while my wife is watching something I really don't want to.

Huge bones of contention there are:

"Manual is crap, they're so slow, a DSG GTD would beat a manual R in a drag race" etc etc. Seems a fair number of DSGers there bought not for the general city driving advantages/convenience of DSG, but purely for bragging rights of launch control, if that's what floats your boat then so be it, but we each have our preferences.

"Leasers are evil - how dare they save themselves £150 a month over what I paid on PCP, it's not fair!".

"Everyone who bought a manual is stupid, don't they know that 80% of manual clutches are going to fail?".

In the early days of joining the R forum, the "Mafia" of that certain moderator and 5 or so cohorts were going out of their way to "beat down" new members.

Does make me laugh. R400 is a comedy act, i'm 110% sure he doesn't believe everything he posts, just likes getting a rise.

Mark,

Yes it has hugely improved with the departures and the remnants of the Mafia winding their necks in a bit , the lease envy still sees a bit of venomous commentary though.

Lol, same here only it in my case it's whilst HWMBO is watching stuff I don't like, or worse still children's TV.  Disney has a lot to answer for

I think it has improved of late and maybe I am being a bit harsh, but imo many of the posts and attitudes still swing between boastful arrogance and condescension, with some wearing their intelligence as some sort of badge.

I rather like the R forum now. In fact, I like it very much, especially now that the horrors of the past, the R Mafia, have muzzled themselves having at long last realised that that they are not liked. The 'Like Button' has been a great way to more or less shut them up. They certainly are not the dearly departed.

The comment above would have me pressing the like button if we had one here.
