Ha, ha. Good one! VW don't know whether they are Arthur or Martha. Probably Marthur!

Had the same drama last year when I tried to order Dynaudio. It was on the Configurator but not enabled for a Dealer to order it. By the time it was and included on the Dealer Order System, 3 weeks after my original order was accepted by the Factory, the BW moved from 2, then 4, then 9, then 7, then 8, then back to 7 where it remained. So it was up and down like a hooker's knickers!

Talk about turning customers into Marthurs.

Lol

'ello Marthur

Oh how they do like to test us loyal (aka stupid) customers!  Roll on the next VW drama, this certainly won't be the last

It is really bad towards the end whilst waiting for your car to get from the Fatherland Port of Emden to a port in Blighty. The guys on the R forum were tracking boats on an hourly basis! They were going nuts as later BW cars were arriving before earlier BW ones. How crazy is that? Never seen so many Marthurs on a car forum.
I lurked about on that site and watched with a wry smile the blue touch paper being lit time and time again.
Why get stressed over something you have no control over. I must admit I have resorted to second guessing what boat it would be on and had a look myself but never felt compelled to take to an Internet forum to bleat about it in the same way some of them have
One day you get a phone call to say it has landed at the dealers and then you start counting sleeps !!
Don't even get me started on the apoplectic posts on the much fabled tracker though. That thing has caused it's fair share of raised blood pressure too. Always good for a laugh though

Haha yeah I've seen all that stuff on the R forum, the wild obsession with tracking the Emden boats. Very amusing and not in a good way

I do regularly read the R forum (mostly for factual info) but haven't bothered registering yet, tbh I don't feel much inclination to.  That place has a weird vibe, plus there's a couple of members on there that massively annoy me, real chip on their shoulder superior types.  I know it's a bit better than it was since the facelift, and there's been a couple of their more rational members come on here to say hi, but I'd rather spend my valuable time on this forum.

As for my R.  It'll turn up when it turns up.

VWUK are just useless, they must up the GTE and Polo GTI web launches

In reality I am grateful they messed up with seatgate as I did come out of that rather well

Never really fussed with the obsessive tracking of orders, I dip in now and again, people just need to realise its just a Golf

Your right about the R forum, some members do have some big egos, & what's with the guy that calls himself R400 ,does he even have a golf R.

I agree, and the tracker checking compulsion bemuses me   I get that people are excited about their new car, but manically checking every few minutes is not going to make it come any quicker.  I don't really bother about stuff like that, I order the car, know it's going to take an age to arrive and then keep the occasional tabs on it but otherwise forget about it.  If it wasn't for the recent introduction of the Tech Pack, I doubt I'd be giving my order much thought really, until it arrives.  I'll use the waiting time to read up on the new tech and foibles.

And then there are some on there that will never be happy with their car, always looking for issues, that probably don't really exist are are merely a figment of their imagination.

@Jimble - haha, yep just as bad on here with the tracker, but otherwise a wittier, grown up forum

You know what, I'm actually starting to really like R400 and kind of root for them, whether he/she has an R or not.  So far he's not risen to it and that just drives them all mad.  I think R forum members set themselves up for that sort of thing.

What people need to do with their Rs are turn the traction control off and drive it properly and metaphorically grow a pair

Used mine for work today and walking back just thought how good it is, my wife has now run hers in and said she just loves it

The R forum has improved considerably ever since a certain mod of unbelievable arrogance sacked himself and another member with a rather long forum name hardly ever posts his incomprehensible views. It is also policed with less gusto than before.

Regarding R400 the member, he has a faux R as he is waiting for his faux R400. I find his posts quite amusing.
