London Victoria won't insure against theft unless fitted with tracker.Is this widespread?

No, shop around. (Although may depend on where car is kept?)

Bit late, but Adrian Flux, Greenlight, Sky Insurance and HIC are all performance/modified car friendly brokers who get really good deals. And the policies are good too, giving 3rd party cover when you drive someone else's car ect.

Thanks all the same. I went to Churchill,s in the end. By the way you gave me some advice re a second horn not working if you recall. You advised of an alarm horn bolted to the body . When raising the fault with the main dealer who listed it with their servicing report they said it was only a two tone horn. Only spoke to a "service advisor",despite asking to speak to the, mechanic. Weren't very helpful. They quote £68 for fixing.

If that's £68 to replace the alarm horn then that's fairly cheap, but I suspect they will just replace the main one. I wouldn't trust the dealer to be honest.
