GTI PP Manual with regular 180 mile motorway commute averages 34MPG with cruise set at 75mph. Have seen consumption as low as 38mpg with cruise set to 60mph, and as high as 19mpg on a spirited back road run.

Car has only covered 5,500 miles so these figures may improve.

GTi PP with DTUK box and long term 34mpg. Current covered 9000 miles
