Dubber maybe you should buy a watch instead.  After years of not wearing one, I finally got sick of fishing around for my iPhone to tell the time, and bought a new watch last month.  You know what, I'd forgotten just how bloody excellent they are for telling the time, and conveniently always to hand (or rather wrist) if you actually wear them.  Cars I've heard are good for driving

My watch needed a new battery just before going away for weeks around 6-7 years ago, so I thought I'd sort it when I got back. I suppose I got used to not wearing it that I forgot all about the battery when we got back. In fact it was several weeks until I gave it another thought.

If you look around, there is probably always a clock of some description in sight. Sat at my desk, I can see one on the wall, the one on my monitor and my phone is less than a foot away. When I'm driving, there are 3 in my car, so I'm never short of a means of telling the time.

It wouldn't be sat outside Charlie. I do have access to somewhere warm and dry to store it, just not at home.

..to store it..

There's the key point.  Store it till or for what?

Buy it, but drive it.

Store it, forget about it and your kids can sell it in years to come. Shame it isn't a MK1.
