If you've already been driving in normal mode then your sound actuator will already be disabled. It only operates when you're in race mode or have the engine set to race setting in individual mode.

Just drive it as normal and don't worry about it because chances are it's nothing. If it gets worse take it to the dealer for warranty work.

The noise you have all been waiting for http://youtu.be/iaM0bXPCLbM I have enhanced the sound by lowering all frequencies which includes the bass tones and raising the volume of all frequencies between 3.5-7.5KHz, this was to try and remove the engine noise, sound was recorded whilst in normal mode. It also starts pretty much instantly 2seconds ish.

I hear a high pitched whistle. Not a squeak like a mouse! As I don't have my R as yet, this might be how it is meant to be. Would drive me a bit potty, so I'll turn up the Dynaudio system and deactivate the Soundaktor.

BTW, does this happen when the engine is cold or at all times?

With throttle applied. Stops when idling and obviously to much go and there is to much noise. I am convinced is the fuel pump. Hot and cold. Mine doesn't sound like this...http://youtu.be/mx-HKgZM_tc maybe it sounds like this except not as bad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AglZYZ7bZMA

Took it to vw today mechanic could hear it thought it sounded a little odd but we took out another R and it was the same so put it down as being normal for now.
