Fuel line rattle
« on: 14 January 2015, 08:10 »
My golf has developed the dreaded fuel line rattle, which i believe there is a tsb for in the UK. Anyway i went to the dealer and the mechanics fix was ramming a piece of foam down the firewall between the pipes.

Obviously i wasn't happy with this fix and he said he couldn't do anything as they had no TSB ! I went to another VW dealer which had just opened and the customer service i received was 10000% better. The manager and head mechanic greeted me and apologized for the poor quality repair at the other dealership, they had researched and found a new part for the fuel lines which they think is a new item and will cure the rattle!

Anyway i am going back on Monday for the work to be carried out , so if it works ill post the part numbers up here for future reference

Cheers for sharing this, wasn't even aware of this issue. :)

As for the dealerships, it's quite annoying that some seem to bend over backwards to help & others just don't seem to be bothered. You really shouldn't have to go to different dealerships to get the standard of service you expect from such a massive company. I experienced the same things when shopping for a car, some dealerships were awesome, offering to pay for travel, accommodation & show you round the site, where as others just couldn't be arsed even though you were looking to spend thousands with them.

Yeah i know exactly what you mean ! Makes the brand look bad and really put me off VW for a while. Glad i found a dealership with mechanics who appear to have had some sort of education and management that aren't cocks in suits !
