Not especially fast, no.

I can't say I've found a use for fog lights yet tho'. Fronts put very little light on the road, and the rear, if there is no one behind you, there is little need to have it on and if there is someone following, the chances are they can see you anyway and won't appreciate being dazzled.

I was told by garage that the car had winter pack however I have never seen the headlamp washers work...

Could they be switched off via VCDS?

Or have I been sold a pack of lies by mr dealer?

Yes, turn off the lights to clean the windscreen only.
I turned mine down to 1 headlight wash in 25 through VCDS. Easily done.

Depends, bit more info required as there are a few variables.  What plate is your car?  Do you have cloth seats?  If so, are they are heated?  If yes, then you have winter pack.  Not relevant to leather seats as they came heated as standard, without winter pack.  Cars with xenons also have the headlight washers.

All cars have the cutouts for headlight washers but only cars with winter pack or xenons will have the full working mechanism.

You could always get someone to stand at the front of the car whilst you flick the wiper stalk several times (with headlights switched on) to see if they activate.  It's possible they could have been turned off via vcds.

Standard non heated cloth interior. 2010 plate.

I've tried it before, the washers are supposed to work once every 5 times you pull the stalk yeh?

Yes, work first time when you switch ignition on and every 5th time thereafter.  No heated front seats, no xenons = no winter pack.  Trust me when I say it's no great loss not having headlight washers.

Ah well, dealership are either a bunch of con artists then or they didn't have a clue either!

Not bothered that I don't have it like as my last car made a right mess of its bonnet with headlamp washers.

Cheers.

In fairness to the dealers, most have no product knowledge, so would not know that all GITs have washer caps in the bumper, therefore assume that they are real and probably part of a winter pack.

I know a lad that went to see a Scirroco that was advertised as having xenons. When he got there it had standard headlights with a BID kit.
