The Goodyears have been updated constantly since the days of your Mk5.
They have also been recently updated with a new blend of rubber. They are superb tyres.

Sorry, I should've been clearer - The mk5 was my mk7 predecessor, it left me in December 2013 with Eagle F1 Assymetric 2s on it.

They might've improved but you only get one chance to impress!

Had my Conti 5s now for a few months on the front (Bridgestones still on the back) Dry weather the car handles brilliantly with no tramping and no wheel spin full down on acceleration from stand still. Wet conditions however.... very very minor tramping and wheel spin if pressing hard on the accelerator, but car recovers well without easing off and not even close to the terrible tramping the Bridgestones caused. As others said, there are better all round weather tyres but for me the Contis have complemented the GTD very well.

What gears do you get tramping in adekil? I only get tramping in 1st gear with the vreds, some dsc flashes in 2nd when damp but zero tramping. Still have oem conti's on the back - look like they will last forever!

ffrank, only very minor tramping in 1st but only when conditions are wet, no tramping in dry conditions whatsoever in any gears. I've had the orange flashing in the MFD in 2nd and even once in 3rd but it was very wet on the roads. The car back end has slipped out a few times round roundabouts but I put that down to my sh*tty bridgestones still being on the back

The £100 voucher Costco deal is back on - £500 net for 4 x 19" Michelin PSS - i'm so tempted, but i'm on the verge of quitting my new job (it's that bad). Have a few irons in the fire for another, but not sure if they'll come to fruition before the offer ends. If I jack in my job with nothing to walk straight into i'd be better keeping hold of £500.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Not loving the Tombstones then

I would say just get them and have done with it, but a tough one with the job uncertainty.  Only you can decide whether to go for the deal or not.
