Side repeaters packed up....

Anyone care to help shed any light on why my side repeaters have stopped working.

At first the drivers side went and then came back for a day and has now stopped completely, and now the passenger side has done the same, they were working when it went into VW for a service and then stopped a couple of weeks after.

Is this a coincidence?

The mirrors still move & heat up...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ones in my old Passat packed up, but that was 8 years old, so kind of expected.

The repeaters are sealed LED units that from memory cost around £20 each. To fit them you need to dismantle the mirror. You need to unclip the mirror glass, undo the motor from the mirror housing then take the cap off to gain access to the repeater retaining fixings. There are plenty of online guides with pictures if you do a search.

Phoned the stealers that it was serviced at, said they were working before it came to you and they have stopped since...

So sorry Mr White, bring it in at your convenience and we will see what the problem is.

Both sides replaced, under warranty, unsure what the part was, but as i drove up there they both started working again.

then stopped when i was showing the dealer. PHEW!
