entry speed for high beam assist
« on: 27 November 2014, 17:52 »
High beam assist comes on at 40mph (as does lane assist I think)
Where I live that speed is too high (narrow windy roads) can the dealer lower this with VACD?

I was also going to ask this question. On my BMW the speed at which the Xenons start some of their dance routines is 40 mph.

I thought it was 37mph. No dealer is going to change that for you even if they knew how to.

The threshold for high beam assist can be lowered.

I have done this with VCDS (to just above 30mph)

I'd never noticed this "feature" until the other night when I pulled out into a dark unlit lane and the high beam didn't flip up until I was going quite fast. I did think it was broken or just having a spaz :D

Does it really stop working altogether when sub 40mph or does it not initially start working until you hit 40mph then works at any speed depending on the amount of ambient light it can see?

Tweaking it down to 30mph would be a useful thing I think.

it does not start until 37 mph . it will stay on at lower speeds as long as it doesn't detect any other light source   street lighting etc  .
