Headlight Condensation
« on: 14 November 2014, 12:58 »
Hi All,
I noticed with some alarm today that after a mornings heavy rain both interiors of my headlights have misted up ( most severe on nearside  )...The car is 5 months old and I've never noticed this before despite many washes & typical UK wet weather. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm assuming this will be covered by warranty??...Thanks in advance for thoughts/advice.

Hi

The headlamps are not sealed units so some level on condensation is expected but it will clear. If is does not clear then there is an issue and it must be investigated.

I was a bot concerned when I first washed my car but this will happen if the unit is not sealed.

Mine does the same and clears, have checked the rubber seals etc. Garage washed mine the other day when it was in for a service and it was evident, when i got home they were clear.

It's gonna be a pain this time of the year but perhaps you could wedge some silica gel pouches in the back of the unit (so you can't see them from the outside)?
