We jumped the 5am train from Glasgow to go and pick mine up.
The salesman picked us up from the train station.
The journey down was like being a kid on Xmas eve

Looks like JCB are the dealer to beat them all when it comes to deals then.

Quite a bit of difference in broker quotes for my specced R.

Cheapest - VW Swindon (Orangewheels) @ £500 cheaper than DTD, and £1,546 cheaper than JCB Medway (Carwow)   Ironic as I live only 24 miles from JCB

Remember you can barter with them on carwow. I managed to get a dealer down by another £1000 after a few messages back and forth.

It's interesting the variation between models and brokers. I guess different dealers work on different prices on different days!!! Maybe it depends on what mood the boss is in?!!!

On a fairly well specced R:

DTD @ 10.5%.  This includes £750 you need to add on if not taking out a PCP deal (I'm cash buyer).  With the extra £750 discount it would be 12.5%.  Mind you the price differs every day!!

Orangewheels @ 12.5%

Carwow - dealer quotes differ but most around the DTD 10% figure, with one offering a measly 8%, and interestingly that was JCB Medway who do many of the DTD at 10-12%

Seems that way.  Today's DTD price is £25 more than yesterday

Mme B, are you selling your mk6 privately out of interest, or chopping it in as part of the deal therefore making the up front discounts a bit more fluid due to looking at 'cost to change' figures?

 :nerd:

I wasn't planning to sell privately.  Most spending that kind of money will no doubt prefer the assurance of VW Approved Used Car warranty and after sales service etc.

So yep, 'cost to change'.  Obviously I have a budget ceiling and it doesn't really matter how it is arrived at discount v px wise, as long as it comes in inline with my figure.

That said, some brokers like DTD don't do px so may have to off load it by some other means.
