JayGTD when your lights do throw an error, do you know what code it is? Or when it does throw a code is it when you switch the lights on? Do you ever get an error from turning the car on?
Cheers

No idea cos my vagcom cable broke. I know exactly how to fix it though, it's byte 18. No errors when you turn your car on, until your main beam comes on then 'front left side light' is 90% on.
When the temperature is below 4 deg then 'check number plate bulbs' comes on around 50% of the time (this is because mine are LED's, but they don't throw an error usually because I have the resistors plugged in too)

Yeh that sounds like mine. Byte 18 is set to 04 on mine. Mines are the OEMs with the kufatec harnesses. When the garage put on Vagcom the left hand side light was at 90% and when you flick the lights back and forward the measuring block drops to 0%. They reckoned on a new switch, which i did get and didn't work so i got one without auto and its better. Always seems to be better if you let the modules wake up!

Ahhh! So the OEM's and the reps both have the same error problems....interesting...from now on all my cars will be xenon spec'd without a doubt! Anyway, doesn't really bother me much anymore. I told my VW dealers to ignore it and theyre more than happy to when they service and MOT the car

So im picking up a GTI tomorrow.. the one with the funny grey in the links on the first page.

Paying £700 for it, however i managed to get this out the dealer

Full tank
Paint protection
New tyres
Fresh Mot

It also has the RNS510 and bluetooth which mine didnt and winter pack, so when i come to install the xenons i will have headlamp washers anyway

Still prefer the deep pearl black... but i do like carbon steel grey... now just to start saving again for some decent alloys...

Hah we'll i'll let you know. I love the GTD but for small miles it gets worse MPG than the GTI so i thought why not. And yours well... the dealer is offering 14.4 for mine without seeing it, heres my specs so you could guesstimate yours:

3 door
paint protection
mint alloys
rcd510
cruise control
optical parking sensors
30k miles.
2 owners, full vw service history.

So i reckon yours will go for more what with those nice xenons you have nd all ;)

I know when i asked about trading mine in they wanted it back to standard. JayGTD does have a standard GTI rear, exhausts and diffuser so they might be ok with that. Plus with the error bulb thing the next owner will be back at the dealers!

They even offered to fit it for me! I just found somewhere cheaper thats all hahaha. I reckon I could have the car back to standard in a few days. The errors would disappear with the standard headlamps back in. Tempting.......but i think the sensible thing to do is keep this for a potential future family car and just keep saving for a house deposit.........then blow the rest of my money on an M3 or M4
