Good call on the washer jets ref the Winter Pack. Seems pointless if you use proper mix of washer fluid .....

That's money saved for keyless then ....

I would buy the R personally. AWD and a decent map and it's in an entirely different league for generally less money on a lease deal.

Its a very hard decision...GTI...R....GTI....R.....??

Im really tempted to change our GTI-pp for a R.....ive started the price negotiations with the dealer.
So far its a £33,330 RRP for the spec with a 10% discount brings it to £30,000

Ive told them what I want for the PX and if they agree its going to cost me the £500 deposit and the monthly payment will be the same im paying now....

Anyway im currently trying to find a R manual test drive and try to decide if the extra running costs are worth the performance increase.

It's going to be a very hard choice to make to be honest.

Ian, Vertu at Lincoln have an R on their forecourt. Not sure if it's a manual though, maybe worth giving them a bell?

Certainly selling them hard. The 10% seems to be the norm if pushed.

I have owned both pretty much full spec versions  I went 6R to 7 GTI PP and now 7R . Both great cars the GTI a bit
more chuckable the R more planted and much more grip in this damp and rainy country .
The wins hands down for me and in the right colour with the 19 inch Prets does look aggressive in the flesh but in a subtle
way most colours look good actually .
One comment go DCC for the extra flexibility in the settings makes the car a nice cruiser or a Go Kart

Really ??  It has had so many ace reviews some people on order have gone back 2-3 months I waited
13 months for a 6R different times much rarer and limited production . If I were starting out on a 7 R
I would order one and wait
