Java update only on this site
« on: 16 August 2014, 17:54 »
I keep getting a re-direct to update my Java every time I come on to the golfgtiforum or click on any of the forum threads etc.
It doesn't happen with any other site.

I thought this kind of thing was when your PC was compromised or has the golfgtiforum been "hacked" in some kind of way?

It re directs me to http://69.162.111.227/uk/index.php
I can hardly do anything on the site as that redirect comes up continually.

Unless you really need Java, uninstall it. Java is swiss cheese as far as security holes go.

This site runs fine for me without Java.

And do not confuse Javascript with the Java application. Javascript is rendered by your browser. You don't need Java to be installed for pretty much any/all websites that run Javascript.

Don't install that - it's malware.

This is also happening to me. It's redirecting me within a matter of seconds so not able to get on to the site from my laptop at all. Very annoying

I am running Firefox with Nosrcript and the following servers want to run scripts on this page.
gtiforum.co.uk (allowed)
skimresources.com (not allowed)
contextweb.com (not allowed)
facebook.com (allowed, but I wish I couldn't)
googletagservices.com (not allowed)
akamaihd.net (allowed - IIRC correctly this is needed for Youtube or Facebook)
doubleclick.net (banned for life)
This site works fine for me.

Your notification will be coming from one of these servers. I can't be sure it will be from the "not allowed" ones but it is a fair guess. (I haven't had the notification).

Yeah I know. Just want to know how to stop it re-directing me constantly.
I did have a couple of days where it was back to normal.

What I want to know though, Is the problem at my end or at the Forums end?
