mine pops and bangs all the time and I have a sports cat... I wouldn't worry about it causing any damage

nah, no damage
would love to know how it could cause damage to the fuel injectors. the bang is from unburn fuel exploding however many metres away from the fuel injectors, but the fuel in the cylenders is exploding how ever many mms away from the fuel injectors so i think if a exhaust poping could damage injectors then you would have to replace the injectors every 5 mins
