I've heard of more reliability problems on the 2.0 than I have the 1.9

On your budget you could probably just about squeeze into an early Mk6. Might be the better option as they feel a lot more modern and use the smoother/ quieter common rail diesels.

Well today we got one :) Got £3200 for the Feista and paid £1300 so £4500 in total for this 1.9TDI Sport. (However I am totally unsure what "Sport" means???)

We went for it because the colour was different, seems like it was really looked after for example, in its life it has had 2 timing belts and water pumps already, and the body work for the age is brilliant.

It also drove lovely, to the point were I would say it is comparable to the few GT 140's I have driven.

  • 105k on the clock
  • Full service history
  • 5 Months Tax
  • 10 Months MOT
  • Cam belt & Water pump, tensoners etc changed at 99k
  • New Tyres
  • Great body work
  • Everything works as it should

Only things I need to do is get some taliored mats for it :)

Looks tidy and sounds like you got a good deal

Sport is basically the same as the early GTs, minus front fogs. It also means the car has a 6-speed 'box which the 1.9 TDI SE lacks.

Wish I'd known that 5 years ago when I bought my TDI. Looks like a lovely motor mate, should do you well. I did 30K miles in mine and it was a tank.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!
