GTD insurance

Anyone insured their GTD'S using any of the sponsoring insurance companies?

Interested to know which insurance companies are being used especially declaring DTUK mod.

Cheers

Would be interested too, mine due at the end of the month and sadly Allianz, who have been great, won't cover the mod.

I recently approached Greenlight for a quote for a new, unmodified GTD but was told because of the value of the car (£30k) they would not provide a quote and directed me to try Adrian Flux which I've yet to do.

That's interesting. When I was getting quotes via the comparison sites and giving the value of the car, as £26k, when I looked at the quotes in more detail the value of the car was indicated as up to £75k.

So I took from this that the value of the car didn't really matter unless it was near the £75k mark.

A few years ago I had trouble with one such online company that stated a value up to £50k was covered, but actually wanted every single factory extra declared even though the total value of the car was still well within this.  By the time they had loaded up their "competitive" quote for the factory extras the premium was rubbish.  These days I always get explicit confirmation upfront that all factory extras are covered.
GTD + 3 pedals :-)

If you are telling them the car is worth £29k you would think they would put 2 + 2 together and realise extras have been added as that is a few ££££ more than the actual price. They are quick enough and figuring everything else out!!
