That's interesting. When I was getting quotes via the comparison sites and giving the value of the car, as £26k, when I looked at the quotes in more detail the value of the car was indicated as up to £75k.
So I took from this that the value of the car didn't really matter unless it was near the £75k mark.

A few years ago I had trouble with one such online company that stated a value up to £50k was covered, but actually wanted every single factory extra declared even though the total value of the car was still well within this. By the time they had loaded up their "competitive" quote for the factory extras the premium was rubbish. These days I always get explicit confirmation upfront that all factory extras are covered.
