Il have to take of the dtuk box just incase they say ive invalidated the warranty.

You already have.

Why go to 4.2k in a diesel anyway? Ignition retention starts to kick in, I guess DTUK box injects WAY more diesel at that rev range so you don't loose power as noticeably as on stock ECU... If you go to 4.2k "as usual" then I guess in worst case you could have melted DPF (since most fuel will burn in exhaust manifold, turbo, dpf as ignition is severely delayed due to high rpm).

If someone tailgates me I tend to increase my distance to car in front in case he does bang into me.... bang from the back is worse enough but don't wanna be sandwiched....

but back to topic, get fault codes and see what it says....

How have i invalidated my warranty? Surely its only a remap that does that. As if i take my dtuk box off how will they know? Monkeyhanger did this and they hadnt a clue.

Well ok let me rephrase that. I dont always go to 4,200 its only when im pushing it but if im driving normally i will change gear at 2,300. You can take it right up to 5,000 if you wanted but sack that.

You have modded the engine mate, doesn't matter how.  DTUK box will increase mechanical, thermal, etc stresses on engines and certain other components (DPF for example). Not saying it will certainly cause damage but where there is more stress there will be more wear if you don't change engine mechanically.

Am sure warranty rules and regs point this out somewhere (VW being german certainly have this covered). On the plus side you have only voided engine and assosiated bits warranty (gear box, drivetrain) but not the whole car, say the chassis.

Just tried to point out that technically you have voided warranty, if you can sleep not telling VW that you had tuning box fitted then don't ;)

Don't worry too much, could be something else completely unrelated as well (and you're not alone going over 3k5)

No need to panic and no need to goto the dealer neither.

The simple fact is that the warmer ambient air temps have affected the fuel to air mix and caused your engine to basically tell you that something's not quite right

Warmer air isn't as dense so the balance if fuel and air has gone to pot, the simple fix is to turn the box down a touch..

Once the temps drop (autumn/winter) then you'll find that you can then turn the box back up to the setting you've ran for months. (When the air temps were lower)
