First wash and found this defect!!

Its a stone chip paint / shield / sealer (some people call it paint, some call it sealer, some call it shield). Its easy to repair, sand down and apply new. Its the top coats of colour paint match afterwards thats the hard part as they will have to blend in all the paint of the panels above that area to match.

If I'm honest. as long as there's not a 'void' behind it which will form rust I'm tempted to leave it - it's not noticeable from being stood up and I'd put up with it rather than a potential crappy paint job on it.

I think I'm lucky in that I don't think they will have to blend the paint in as it comes to a natural edge where the dimpled paint stops along the top of the sill. It generally looks a different shade any way because its textured.
I'm just more annoyed about having to put my car into a body shop as I don't think I've ever had a car come back from a garage / body shop without some issue.

Just an update: Took it today to see the warranty manager who took pictures of the car and agreed it wasn't right.
He also checked the paint depth just incase it had been repaired before I got it but all ok.
Interestingly when I was walking across the dealers car park there was another white GTD that had a very similar white crease down the sill. Nowhere near as bad as mine but still very noticeable!!

So no doubt it will be another few weeks before the next stage happens.
