Water stains on windscreen trims
« on: 29 May 2014, 21:18 »
Hello Guys, I have a Mk7 Gti which is suffering from water staining marks on the front windscreen trims, I cleaned the car at the weekend and removed the marks using Autoglym vinyl/rubber cleaner and it they looked fine, however today the staining is back and as bad as ever! Any ideas what to use or how to prevent this happening? I find the rubbers in general not very good quality and hard to keep looking good, what do you think? Cheers for any advice

Try a decent mixed APC, and keep at it every time you clean it. Looks to me like you've been splashed with something or sprayed something on ya windscreen?

^^ This

That's pretty bad

If APC doesn't shift it, I'd be looking at something like Gtechniq C4 Permanant Trim Restorer.  Don't bother with Gummi Pflege, doesn't work and at the first drop of rain it runs all over the paintwork/glass and is a bugger to get off.

That's exactly how mine look too. They do clean up ok but the next shower seems to leave it back that way again.
