Had a nightmare with parts to start with, the bushes i removed were VW 69mm bushes.. and euro, tps, vw wanted to supply 72mm. They have said basically the 69mm ones dont exist and now it is the 72mm ones only available.

As my mechanic explained from an engineering point of view it is not going to fit into a 69mm hole.
After a very long day waiting for parts and my car in the air with the axle hanging off Euros managed to get the 69mm Febi bushes from brighton and ran them to crawley for us, bare in mind this was at 17:00 after waiting all day to find the parts
Getting the old bushes out was fairly easy there were out in half hour, the new ones went in just as quick just really mugged off about the sizes IF there is a next time i will buy polybushes would of been so much easier
For future reference for anyone else that ends up in this situation
69mm Febi bilstein: 623 44 0188

You do realise the bushes have a cage around them to make them smaller don't you?

Yeah thats the type I removed and they were measured around the metal casing of 69mm , and managed to get hold of but only from euro's as VW dont stock these anymore
As i say the ones i remove were of a diameter of 69mm original VW bushes they have the part number on their sytem but it has been replaced by a newer part number and without a metal casing but of a diameter of 72mm

Yeah i know pretty annoyed i ended up with febi ones, but on the otherhand they are pretty comfy not sure how long they will last once im lowered mind, Pretty confident to change them myself next time with a specific axle bush press.
front end needs attention now before I fit the coilys
