Update.... xxChrisxx, you were right, it was a duff cat. They replaced it and I took it back for the retest and the CO passed, but this time it failed on the lambda! The MOT tester said it was because the cat hadn't been fitted properly and the exhaust was blowing. So I phoned up the exhaust company and complained. The manager was very apologetic and said he would fix it and do me a free MOT as they are an MOT centre too. It can't be done until Thirsday, which is annoying because I got stopped by the police yesterday on the way to work for not having an MOT
The police let me off and told me to go to work and when I get home to not drive it until I got an MOT. So I am carless until Thursday!
