I'm experiencing the same problem. One of my gloss black rear side spoilers is coming off. Not great. I think the adhesive strip used to fix it to the rear windscreen is woefully inadequate.

Booked into dealers to sort out while in for it's first service.

Identical here as well. Dealers say the trim is on back order. They had another GTD, GTI and an R with the same issue within the same week.

Just pop-in to my local dealer (Liverpool) to have the issue look into. Despite not buying the car of them, just like my previous warranty case with my MK6, I was dealt with swiftly esp. when they know the car is still just over 2 months old. They are ordering both spoilers and will contact me to arrange to book my car in! Excellent aftersales service! I will write to the MD of this dealership once the issue settles!

Mine is still on back order, and has been for 5 weeks. I don't understand how they built, shipped and delivered my GTI to me in 12 weeks but can't get a piece for a spoiler....

When I took my car in for its first oil change service I got them to look at my flappy black gloss, rear spoiler. They fixed it no problem. Didn't ask what with as it seems well stuck down.

@remlapeel I can't understand why you need an entirely new spoiler unless it snapped or fell off? Shocking they can't get the part sooner - not good of VW that!

I've made my views clear about the design and engineering of the thin, black, gloss spoilers on the rear window. They shouldn't be glued. They should employ a metal clip which hooks around the side of the glass window somehow. That would have been much more secure and pretty cheap too.

I took it to the dealer and explained the problem. I took it in a week later for them to reattach it. Left it there all day and returned at 5pm for them to tell me it wasn't done and they needed a new spoiler. This may the beginning of June and still on back order as of Thursday when I phoned them.

has i have said before my spoiler trim is to be fitted on 28th Aug but can,t understand why a new spoiler would be needed unless the garage has made a error trying to fit a replacement trim? as you have also said before metal clips would be a far better job than sticky tape i emailed VW uk to say was'nt happy because of the trim but also my front shocker was also leaking after 1000miles still awaiting reply.

Mine is
I also have had the same problem on the rear spoiler and the Dealership had my car for a full day.

When i went to collect my car at around 4 pm the Sevice Manager informed me that the Technician had tried to reseal the spoiler but realised that it would not stick to the glass.

So the Service Manager has ordered both sides now of the spoiler.

However i have since been in touch with VW Customer Service and also the Consumer advice people about my rights on a new car only a couple of months old.

The Consumer Advice told me to either reject the car as it is not satisfactory goods and told me to go for either a new car from the dealership or ask for a complete refund which you are entitled to do.

They have until next week to come back to me then i start taking further Action.

I had mine replaced at the local dealer 3 weeks ago. They managed to scratch the top spoiler through to the undercoat and leave a razor blade between the bumper and tailgate.
I was told it was going to go into the body shop to be repainted, but 'the body shop' still haven't come back with an appointment.
Shockingly poor from the dealer.
The painted it 3 times and each time they weren't happy (not even me saying it wasn't good enough), they have the car again at the moment trying to do it again. This has been going on since June!
