Claying towels/pads - any good?

Has anyone got any experience of using claying towels or pads such as the Speedy Surface Prep Towel/pad? 

Interested to find out how these compare with traditional claying - upsides and downsides.  I've read the sales blurb but would like an honest opinion on their performance capabilities and ease of use etc.  They aren't cheap but are obviously reusable, what kind of lifespan can you expect from one?  Is there much difference between a towel and a pad?

Lifespan seems to be the main issue because of the fact that you can't fold them and make the most of it like a traditional clay. I reckon they only look good for a basic top up rather than a full month claying session.

Those Carpro ones are half the price of the Speedy Surface ones! 

I've read that although clay towels/pads make the decon process much quicker, you can get more marring if your technique is not spot on.  I guess not too much of an issue if polishing afterwards but no point in inflicting unnecessary damage imo.  More concerned about the results rather than the longevity.

I'll probably stick with normal claying but was just intrigued to see how they compare.

I'll give that a try when I get paid. The clay is quite tedious lol. But you can feel the dirty come out of the paint

I've been testing one and its not as good a traditional clay bar, however it is a good 'in between' claying cloth. It does what you want it to but I cant imagine that it will last long?

I get your point about the questionable longevity, but iyo, did it perform as well as a clay bar in removing contaminants?  Did you get any marring?
