I should also mention that although my information says 'Aberdeen', I'm actually collecting my car from Gillingham hence why I'm looking for ships going south!!

Just got the "5C" message.

Step 5 of 7: Your car is in the final stage of its journey to the UK. On average it takes 10 days from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer.


So the car is in the UK :)

You're right that all cars going south come from Emden to Sheerness, but Sheerness is a tiny port.  My car was at Emden for a week after receiving the 5b.  It then took another week to get to the dealers.

Generally you'll get the 5b text exactly 48 hours after receiving the 5a

Just received this for the second time...

I think this is quite common with the VW tracking system.

"Step 5 of 7: Your car has been built and has now left the factory. On average it takes 4 weeks from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer. "

Just got this :)

Step 6 of 7: Your car has now arrived in the UK and will be delivered to your local Volkswagen Retailer shortly. This normally takes 7 days.

Not long now..  Still heard nothing from the dealer yet though......

Hope you get better luck than me. Mine was in the country on the 10th and still not been delivered to the dealership.

Mine was build week 13.
I phoned vw uk and they say it was supposed to be on the transporter last week, but somehow they missed it.

I checked the online tracker yesterday and although I'd received a second 5a text yesterday it had moved to a 5b status (3 weeks to delivery). I assume this mens that I'm actually at status 5b. I also noticed that the 'Elbe Highway' (a car transporter) was in Sheerness yesterday afternoon after arriving from Emden.

Fingers crossed that's it in the UK but I won't hold my breath!!
