Being in silent stealth mode could have been a contributing factor.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

I think also being gutless and running out of puff like an asthma suffer could also be a contributing factor lol!

Quite simple, you should have backed off until you knew his intentions, and thats probably what the driver of the van had thought you had done! My right foot would have been instinctively off the gas, and hovering over the brake pedal
Just one of life's little curve balls sent to test us on a daily basis... that day, it was your turn!

I agree I would have instinctively slowed and waited and probably undead up in the right lane behind the transporter. 4/5 days anyway... On a "drive like a prick" day I would have been well past him on the inside.

All the comments of serves you right and so on.. We have all done something similar at some point, it's life's driving experiences

Completely off topic. But wasn't there a guy on here four or five years ago who posted a vid of his 2.0mk4 doing top speed. Then got banned from the police?

I'm amazed that he managed to break the speed limit :lipsrsealed:

My mate does that haha.  used to make me slightly nervous.,...but now im used to it.

In regards to the thread.  I really cant fault the van driver at all.  You came onto the main road, from the slip-way, and was constantly in his blind-spot.  he probably did everything correctly in terms of checking his mirror, indicating and proceding to move into the 'turning off lane' however because you merged onto the road at a speed greater than that of the flowing traffic, id say puts you at fault for intentionally sitting in a place where you cannot be seen at his mirrors, and should he have carried on, not wanting to change lanes, would have undertook the van driver.

Just my 2cents at end of day though....luckily no casualties r damage caused...just experience gathered!
