decat and sensor questions
« on: 12 February 2014, 08:08 »
I have the 3" ebay downpipe decat now obviously coupled with a aum engine it brings up the cel. Now is there anyway I can trick the lambda to think everything is clean and fresh as it should be like unplug the stupid thing and put it in the box the wires go to so all its breathing is fresh air ?

To my personal knowledge the only way to get rid is to have it coded out. Im not 100% on that and im sure someone will pop along to correct or confirm me.

You can space the lambda to try and trick it into thinking the emissions are ok, the only sure fire way though is to have it coded out.

I guess I was lucky, I've been running a decat for 18months and haven't had the CEL on.

Haha ninos right mate 18 months on an auq is a long time. Seriously though the sensors looking for clean air so surely disconnecting it from the exhaust and place it in that black plastic box would keep it quiet ?
