So my query is how tough are the monzas ............
well mate i for one feel for you, i do the exact same thing, it's right and then left as potholes are everywhere. Then a loss in concentration or checking on the little ones at the back for a sec and bang!
I had a buckled monza a couple of months ago due to a mean pothole, straightened that up and now seems not to be an issue with the tyre. I'd think Monzas are sturdy enough to carry a car like the GTI, would be fuming if they curbed because of every pothole the car might hit.
