How long is/was your wait from VW dealer??

My order was confirmed today and been told to expect it in mid to late may. Apparently it's 20 weeks for a GTi now!

It was a 25 week wait when I ordered on 23 October.  I was allocated build week 48 and the my car arrived at the dealer on 23 December. So 9 weeks in total!

I ordered my GTD 28/10/13 and got a confirmed build of week 9, so looking at 19-20 week and was quoted 25 weeks when ordered.

It does appear from reading posts on here, that a lot of the guys ordering GTI's are getting theirs quicker than GTD's.

I ordered mid-November and it was built in BW3. Car is in the UK and in the way to the dealers.

Was there any explanation of why the estimate was so wrong. Nine weeks looks like they intercepted a pre-allocated slot.

Volkswagen dealerships get a monthly sheet stating max delivery times, it was 25 weeks just before Xmas but then Volkswagen added more shifts & staff to meet the high demand.

How long did you have to wait for your mk7 GTI/GTD to arrive at the dealership? Are you still waiting for delivery?

I've ordered my GTD with a couple of extras. I've been quoted a delivery of around 5 months :-( I was told the demand for the GTI/GTD is really high hence the waiting time. What are the chances of the car arriving early?
