Hi Guys,
I am getting a grinding/creaking noise which is more noticeable when driving slow/speeding up, could this be a bearing? or brake related? whats the possible costs involved ? my car is a 1999 gti

A wheel bearing would be more of a whistle when on its way out, if its already colapsed then yes it would be grinding.
A failing CV joint would also generate the same syptoms. Find out which corner it is, jack it up and see how much play you have on your wheel.
I would advise you not to drive it until fixed as a failing CV joint may seize up while driving.
No idea of cost
