Hi,
I got a voicemail from VW UK today, apparently the parts have arrived to replace the shock absorbers to see if this solves the issue, gotta call them back next week to book it in at my dealers to get the work done. The way got VW UK involved was a stroppy email through the website which resulted in a follow up call a coupe of weeks later, which got the ball rolling.
With regards to rejecting a car it's a long and drawn out process, and in most cases I don't think is successful, I had lot of issues with a new Peugeot a few years ago, eventually the dealers gave in and replaced the car for more or less no additional cost to me, but the car was never officially rejected even though it had over £4k worth of warranty work done due a a number of serous problems, I think they even went on and sold the car as an "approved used" Peugeot. But at least I managed to get rid of it and the dealer principle didn't have to speak to me every week to explain why the car was still having a load of issues, I should really have listened to everyone who said at the time not to get a Peugeot, but hindsight is great!
Cheers,
Phil
