Bhp calculation
« on: 03 January 2014, 19:50 »
Got myself vag com so this afternoon i did a few logs, two 3rd gear pulls and a 4th gear aswell ,seen that a rough bhp figure can be had from the maf mg/s reading by dividing it by 0.8,how accurate or inaccurate compared to a dyno  is this from peoples experience,I was told by a vw mastertech that if the maf is reading correctly which it is, that it can be as close as 5bhp correct  mine was 169 mg/s so came out at 211bhp but I only got a remapped ko3 with the supporting and most people say ko3 is maxxed out at 200.Not forgetting the outside air temp was low.

it's a bit of a guess really, I've had readings that are 15bhp over and others that are bang on the money. A K03 won't hit any more than around 200bhp so you can rightly assume your calculation is slightly out

Also the maf calculation doesnt take into account ignition timing.

Usually fairly accurate tho
